About Us
Yarnhouse started as a simple idea early in 2009. After moving to NoDa in late 2008, I (Chris Wysocki), and Robert Fulbright (a non-knitter at this point) started to feel the local neighborhood vibe. I was looking for a change in my life where I could inspire and be inspired. As an avid knitter, I started a neighborhood knitting circle to meet other knitters in the neighborhood. After attending several meetings with me, Robert started knitting as well. He finally caught the knitting bug!
I was at a transitional point in my life where I was searching for that something that I was passionate enough about to make it my life. Since I began knitting, I noticed an overwhelming feeling of community among knitters. That is something that you simply cannot find everyday. I want to share ideas, experiences, learn together and embrace knitting as the art it is.
Knitting is just the beginning plans for Yarnhouse. There are plans to expand into other fiber arts such as spinning, dyeing and weaving. I hope everyone will be here to enable us to grow the community together.
